A minor child drowned in a pond at Durgapur upazila in Netrakona district on Saturday morning.
The dead was Ramia Akter, 01, daughter of Sumon Mia, a resident of Alampur village under Chandigarh union of the upazila.
It was known that the child fell down into a pond next to their house while she was playing near its bank.
Family members rescued her and took to Durgapur Upazila Health Complex where she was declared dead by the doctors.
