Motijheel Ideal School and College governing body member Khandker Mustaque Ahmed secured bail on Tuesday in a rape case of a female student of the same institutions.
Earlier in the morning, he submitted a bail petition before the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 of Dhaka after surrender.
Later, Judge Mafroza Parvin granted the bail prayer upon a bond of Tk 50,000.
The 70-year-old Mushtaque and the 18-year-old college student were present during the hearing.
A High Court bench of Justice Khondker Diliruzzaman and Justice Md Aminul Islam granted Khondker Mushtaque six weeks` ad-interim bail on July 4.
As the tenure of his bail ended today, he filed another bail plea after surrendering in court.
Earlier, on August 1, the victim girl`s father filed the case against Mushtaque and the college principal Fauzia Rashedi.
The HC earlier granted anticipatory bail to Fauzia Rashedi.
The plaintiff of the case said that Mushtaque used to come to the college on various excuses and called his daughter from the class to the principal`s room.
Later, Mushtaque along with his men kidnapped his daughter and confined her to his house in Thakurgaon, on June 12, he said.
On June 22, the victim`s father filed a rape case against Mushtaque in Thakurgaon.
