No plan to close schools, colleges due to heatwaves

Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Prof Nehal Ahmed on Monday said they have not any plan to close the secondary schools and colleges due to the ongoing severe heatwave.

He said it will be tough to complete the syllabus in time if the government closes down secondary schools and colleges. He said they will consider the matter if the situation deteriorates, an online news portal reports.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to keep all public primary schools closed from June 5 to June 8 due to the severe heatwave considering their age.

According to the Met office said a severe heatwave is sweeping over the four northern districts of Rajshahi, Naogaon, Nilphamari and Dinajpur is likely to continue.
