Police detained ten Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists, including its Banani Thana Committee Ameer Tajul Islam and Secretary Maulana Rafi, on Tuesday night while they were holding secret meeting.
Officer-in-Charge of Banani police station Mostafizur Rahman said the Jamaat men were holding a meeting at Banani Wireless Gate Nawabi Restaurant around 9.30pm.
Meanwhile, Jamaat announced a programme at Baitul Mukarram on Monday but they did not get police permission.
Then they announced another programme at the same venue on Saturday.
