Two teenage boys went missing while they were taking bath in the Padma river in Rajshahi on Saturday.
The incident took place in Srirampur area of the city in the afternoon.
Fire service diving team started operation to rescue them.
The missing boys are Gholam Sarwar Saim, 19, son of Saidur Rahman of Srirampur area, and Rifat Ullah Ghalib, 19, son of late Gazi Moinuddin of the same area.
Rajshahi Metropolitan River Police investigation center officer-in-charge Shahriar Reza said some teenagers went to play in the morning. At the end of the game, seven or eight boys went to take bathe in the the Padma river. At that time, Saim and Ghalib drowned in the water.
Fire service diving team is working to rescue the two, the OC added.
