The interim government of Bangladesh has appointed two senior officials of the Bangladesh Army as ambassadors. One of them is Major General Kabir Ahmed, and the other is Major General Sheikh Md. Sarwar Hossain, who is currently serving as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Board.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification appointing them as ambassadors.
According to the notification, their jobs have been placed under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on deputation for appointment to ambassadorial positions.
The order will come into effect immediately, the notification stated. However, it did not mention which countries they will be posted to as ambassadors.
