The victory against India has changed the scenario of team Bangladesh. The Tigers have regained their lost confidence with that.
They have also got a reward despite losing the opportunity to play in the final of the Asia Cup. Bangladesh have occupied their number 7 slot in One Day International (ODI) cricket again within a day pushing Sri Lanka down.
Bangladesh, earlier, was holding the number 7 slot but Sri Lanka went up at the position defeating Pakistan on Wednesday. However, that did not last even 24 hours. Bangladesh recovered their position by beating India by six runs on Friday.
Bangladesh are currently holding the position with 94 rating points while Sri Lanka are on number 8 with 93 points.
It is noted that Sri Lanka will have a chance to elevate to number 7 again if they win against India in the final on Sunday.
There is a possibility of more changes in the ODI rankings around the final of the Asia Cup. India are at the number 3 slot with 114 rating points. On the other hand, Australia and Pakistan are holding the number 1 and 2 positions respectively with 115 points. India will go up to the number 1 if they win the final against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, champions England remain at number 4 while New Zealand and South Africa are at number 5 and 6 respectively. Besides, Afghanistan and West Indies remain unchanged at number 9 and 10 slots.
