A U.S. military helicopter went down near the Strait of Hormuz, American media reported.
The New York Times, citing informed sources, said the helicopter went down in the vicinity of the strategic waterway and that its crew was recovered safely.
It remains unclear whether the aircraft was hit by Iranian fire or suffered a mechanical failure, the report said.
