Two persons were killed in separate lightning strikes at Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were Rahmat Ulya, 40, a resident of Baharchhara union, and Helaluddin, 20, a resident of Bainnapara area of the upazila.
Baharchhara UP chairman Amjad Hossain Khokon said farmer Rahmat Ullah was returning home in the morning. At that time, a lightning struck on him at around 11:00 am. He died on the spot.
On the other hand, Helaluddin died in a lightning while he was fishing.
Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Halim confirmed the matter.
