Fortune Barisal started its journey in the eighth edition of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with a great victory. Shakib Al Hasan's team lost to Chittagong Challengers by 4 wickets in the opening match.

Chittagong Challengers scored 125 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Fortune Barisal chased down the target of 126 runs and lost 6 wickets with 6 balls remaining in the innings. Saikat Ali has scored the highest 39 runs for the team. Besides, Ziaur Rahman scored 19, Irfan Shukkur 18, Touhid Hridoy 18, Shakib Al Hasan 13 and Dwayne Bravo 12 runs.
