How turbulent Helal become Baul in disguise

He used to visit shrines disguised in Baul to avoid arrest. He grows his hair and beard so that no one can recognize him. He even starred as a model in a Baul music video. He started his family by marrying a woman from the Bhairab railway station area of Kishoreganj. But that did not save Helal Hossain alias Selim Fakir alias killer, the accused in multiple murder cases.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from the Bhairab railway station area of Kishoreganj on Wednesday night (January 12). Spokesman Commander Khandaker Al Moin made the remarks at a press conference at the media center of Karwan Bazar in the capital on Thursday (January 13th) at noon.

The RAB claims that there are two more cases against Helal besides three murder cases. He has also been convicted in a murder case.

Helal, who studied up to eighth grade, lives in Bogra. At one time he was a grocer but later he became involved in various crimes including murder. He started staying at various shrines and railway stations in disguise to avoid arrest. He has a big beard and hair so that no one can recognize him. He was cast as a model during the shooting of a Baul music video. After watching the video of that song, the locals identified the serial killer Helal Fakir disguised in Baul's attire.

RAB spokesman Commander Khandaker Al Moin said the RAB arrested Helal Hossain Selim Fakir alias Baul Selim alias killer Helal, a notorious fugitive serial killer, who acted model in the Baul song 'Bhanga Tari Chhera Pal'. Six months ago, a man gave information to the RAB about the Baul whose song was promoted on YouTube. It was then reported that this Baul model was accused in Bogra's Biddhut murder case. Later, RAB started a shadow investigation. At one point, the RAB was convinced of the veracity of the incident.

Selim was sentenced to life imprisonment in the sensational 2001 Biddhut murder case in Bogra. There are also two other murder cases against him. One of which is the Vishnu murder case in Bogra in 1996 and the Rabiul murder case in 2006. Helal was a 21-year-old accused in the sensational Vishnu murder case. The assassination was centered around the spread of domination. He is known as an irresistible Helal due to his various criminal activities in the area.

It may be mentioned that in 2001, Mahmudul Hasan Biddhut was brutally hacked to death with a pre-planned domestic sharp weapon in order to dominate Bogra. The victim's family filed a murder case with the Bogra Sadar Police Station. In this case, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment. Besides, a man named Rabiul was hacked to death with a local weapon in 2006. Helal is also the accused in that case.

Besides, Helal alias Baul Helal was arrested in 2015 in a theft case at Bogra Sadar Police Station 2010. Moreover, there is a case against him under the Women Violence Act.

In 2000, the two sides clashed in Bogra over the expansion of dominance. Helal's left hand was severely injured and his left hand was crippled by the sharp domestic weapon from the opponent. After this incident, he became known as a handicapped Helal.

After studying up to eighth grade, Helal started a grocery store and was arrested by the RAB. Helal left the area in 2010 after being sentenced to life imprisonment in a theft case in 2010 and a power murder case on the day he was granted bail in 2015.

Then he started his fugitive. He first came to Dhaka's Kamalapur railway station by train from Bogra. Later he went to Chattogram by train from Kamalapur. There he stayed in the Amanat Shah shrine for some time in disguise. Later he went to Shahjalal Mazar in Sylhet by train. He stayed there for a few more days in disguise. Thus he took up position in disguise at various railway stations and shrines. Selim Fakir's name was kept secret at Bhairab railway station in Kishoreganj. Five years ago while Kishore Palash alias Gamcha Palash shoots for a music video, Helel sang Baul songs next to the rail line in the Narayanganj railway station. When a shooting crew offered him a role in the music video for the song, he was seen as a Baul model for the popular song 'Bhanga Tari Chhera Pal'.

After living in different parts of the country for seven years, the fugitive started a family with a woman near Bhairab railway station in Kishoreganj for the last four years. He used to make a living by singing baul at the railway station.
